Simon Plumbe - Specialities: Writing

As with most writers, I specialise in a number of subjects. While I can provide work covering a range of subjects, I feel that I do have some areas that are my key strengths and where I have the most experience. I try to make sure that I can specialise in a number of areas, ensuring that I can write about subjects with a reasonable level of background knowledge. At the moment these include: Basketball I specialise in British basketball primarily, having worked with the Birmingham Bullets for a couple of years assisting behind the scenes with the club, running their official supporters club, and contributing to the match night programmes as a writer. Computer/Video Games I can cover a wide range of gaming formats including (in alphabetical order) Amiga, Dreamcast, Gameboy, Gamecube, PC, Playstation, Playstation 2 and many others, including "retro" formats such as the Commodore 64. Computing I can cover a number of computer-related issues, from software reviews, hardware coverage, industry interviews and features and more, specialising on the PC, Amiga, and generic computing. Disability Issues I can write about most aspects of disability issues, general information and issues relating to disability rights and the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. DVDs/Videos I can primarily provide reviews of videos and DVDs, but also some limited article work. Internet I can write about general internet usage - features and commentary - along with website design theory and site reviews. Interviews I have conducted a number of interviews over the years, both within the computer games industry, basketball, as well as a number of celebrity interviews for several magazines and amateur publications ranging from actors, musicians, comedians and more. Some of the these include Jim Davidson, Danny John-Jules (Red Dwarf), Don Henderson, George Marshall (comedian and impressionist), Nicholas Parsons and a number of others. Press Releases I have written and issued a large number of press releases relating to my website which has generated a considerable amount of interest in the site. I can provide press releases for other websites and organisations if needed and am currently using these skills to promote a series of events. Science Fiction/Fantasy Here, I can write generic articles and reviews, as well as specialising in a range of areas within the genre including, but not limited to Star Trek, Transformers, Highlander, Star Wars and more. Wrestling My main interest here is the "sports entertainment" side of wrestling, primarily World Wrestling Entertainment (formerly World Wrestling Federation).
