I have worked on a large number of titles
over the years, including computer magazines, science fiction plus a range of
other genres.
My commercial work currently includes:-
Amiga Pro
For this computer magazine, I first got involved as a
one-off writer, but quickly became the regular video columnist in addition to
other one-off articles, interviews, event coverage and features.
Amiga User International
I was commissioned for a one-off article reviewing a piece
of hardware for this computer magazine.
Birmingham Bullets
My involvement this professional basketball team involved
writing regular articles for the weekly match programmes for about a year, as
well as some behind the scenes support and running the club's official
Supporters Club.
CD32 Gamer
I didn't work for CD32 Gamer directly, but this magazine
reprinted one of my articles that was originally written for Amiga Pro.
CD Gold
CD Gold was an innovative CD-based commercial magazine for
computer users. It only reached the pilot issue, but I worked on this title as
lead writer, artist, and editor.
Micro Mart
I was the regular Amiga columnist (for my self-titled
"Amiga Addiction" column) for Micro Mart for some time, as well as
writing additional articles covering the Internet and reviews of Playstation
games. Most recently, I have written a two-part feature on legal emulation
which has appeared in issues 794 and 795 respectively published in April
2004.
Official Star Trek Fan Club Of The UK
I was fortunate enough to have the chance to work on this
officially licenced publication from Paramount, and I contributed regular
columns including reviews and Star Trek trivia, in addition to one-off
articles, event reports, and celebrity interviews. I also did a brief amount of
photographic work.
I have also written a large amount on a voluntary basis, for
non-profit making fanzines, websites and more including (but not limited to)
the following:-
AM/FM
This was a fan-produced music magazine released on disk for
the Amiga computer, and I contributed a number of CD reviews.
Amiga Energy
This is a self-published title through my organisation,
Infinite Frontiers, and was a computer magazine dedicated to the Amiga
platform. I acted in an editorial capacity as well as providing approximately
50% of the written content.
Auto Assembly
I am one of the primary writers on the Auto Assembly
website.
Birmingham Bullets Supporters Club
I was the joint president of the Official Supporters Club
for the Birmingham Bullets basketball team, and in that capacity I was involved
in writing and editing the newsletter including player interviews, features,
match reports, as well as some photographic work.
Infinite Frontiers Online
This is the online presence of my non-profit making science
fiction and computing organisation. I maintain the website, write a large
amount of the content, and do all of the design and HTML programming. I also
look after the site's discussion forum.
Simply Gaming
I had written a number of software reviews for this computer
games website covering several different games platforms.
The Cybertronian Times
This is a fanzine dedicated to Transformers, released
annually to tie-in with our Transformers event, Auto Assembly. I write for this
in several areas including reviews and a variety of articles.
The Final Frontier
This was a Star Trek magazine on disk for the Amiga computer
that I first released in 1991. The magazine reached a world-wide audience and
was critically acclaimed by readers and professional magazines alike. Even now,
the magazine is fondly remembered by its readers.
Details of my non-writing work can be found elsewhere on
this site. |
