Commercial Downloads - Scott Adams - Updated 1st Janaury 2004

Scott Adams is a well-known name to fans of 8-bit gaming. He was responsible for creating a vast number of text adventures and was one of the early pioneers of the genre. Scott has graciously given us permission to include his old 8-bit games here, and we'll be adding more to the site shortly. Hope you enjoy them...

While these games are text based and may seem basic compared to today's adventures, the strength of text adventures were the puzzles themselves and the player's imagination. It made games more exciting building up your own image of the game world and what it looked like, rather than sticking to one persons vision. If you want to know more about what makes Scott tick, click on the button below for an exclusive interview...

Scott Adams Interview

Some of the 8-bit versions were converted by Brian Howarth, but are all the copyright of Scott Adams and are included here with his permission. In addition, many of these were converted to raw data files for use with interpreters on other machines and again, thanks to Scott, we are able to bring you these here. Also, if anyone is interested, we may try to add maps, tips and solutions for the adventures.

Scott's current game for the PC, "Return To Pirate's Island II" (released in 2000) is available from his website for just $19.99. If you enjoy the adventures here, please consider buying this latest game from him as a way of saying thanks. You can also visit his site and if you want, make a donation to Scott for his hard work.
