Skramble - Anirog
Commodore 16, Commodore 64, Vic 20
Skramble was released in 1983, and was
Anirog's take on the popular Konami arcade game of a rather similar name (!),
and featured six levels of action flying your craft through treacherous caves,
destroying outposts and incomming missiles, and other obstacles. You had to fly
your ship over the rugged terrain, and through all manner of underground caves
and complexes, generally trying to stay alive as long as possible, while still
making sure you have enough fuel to carry on replenishing your supplies along
the way!
The game was simple enough, and the graphics and sound weren't too spectacular, even for the time, but it was still great fun and I guess that's why it's still appealing today. While the game doesn't offer a great challenge to hardened gamers, and can be completed all too easily, it's still fun to play.
The Vic 20 version of this game was released under the slightly different name of Scramble.

The Download
The game is available here as a zip file containing the appropriate file for use with a range of emulators. Where possible, we are trying to include "pure" tape image files to bring you as accurate a library of Anco/Anirog titles as we can. While some of these will take longer than game image files, they are true to the originals. Other files will be ready to fun single program files that can be loaded into most suitable emulators.
