Kick Off 97 - Anco
PC CD-ROM, 1997
Kick Off 97 took this popular football series in a completely new direction adding features that had not been seen before. The game was larger than ever, and because of many of the new features, it also needed to be distributed on CD-ROM.
The main departure from the series was the way in which the game was presented. As well as the familiar top-down view, Kick Off 97 also offered the opportunity to play the game in a full 3D view with motion-captured footballers, usinging top professional footballers - David Seaman, Ian Wright, and Patrick Viera.
In addition, the game was the first in the Kick Off series to feature commentary, provided by ITV's sports commentator Jim Rosenthal, and was enhanced with a wide range of new game modes.
The game was distributed in Europe by Maxis.
