Kick Off - Anco
Amstrad, Atari ST, Commodore 64, Sega Master System, SNES, Spectrum
When Kick Off was first released, it really
put Anco on the global gaming map. It was heralded as being one of the best
football games of its time and was converted to most computer and console
formats. It utilised a simplistic top-down view, and the entire game was
controlled with a single fire button, but it had a timeless appeal which still
holds up well today.
This football game was the one that made the gaming nation sit up and take notice of Anco! The main rival to Sensible Soccer, Kick Off was released on a range of formats but the Amiga version was the most well-known and critically acclaimed, and we'll be bringing these all to you here.
The game is (c) Anco Software and is included here with permission.
The Download
The game is available here as a series of zip files, each containing the appropriate file for use with a range of emulators and native machines. Where possible, we are trying to include "pure" tape/disk image files for the 8-bit versions, to bring you as accurate a library of Anco/Anirog titles as we can. While some of these will take longer than game image files, they are true to the originals. Other files will be ready to fun single program files that can be loaded into most suitable emulators.
Before downloading any of the copies of this game, please spare a few minutes to visit our sponsor using the link below. Our sponsors are important to this site to help fund our download service and continue to offer these games free of charge so please show your support for them.
For the Sega Master System version of the game, this was released under the slightly different name of Super Kick Off. Sadly, the Amstrad and Atari ST versions here are cracked, but it doesn't interfere with the game. We will be replacing these with un-cracked versions as soon as we can obtain them.
